Systems

Infrastructure carries assumptions.

The systems developed in Atlas Labs make research principles operational—and make their consequences open to inspection.

IROS

Ingesta Research Operating System

Ingesta was the name of an early tool for collecting and interpreting information: a system for “digesting” material rather than merely retrieving it. IROS retains that origin while turning it into a broader research architecture.

IROS is designed to help researchers work with AI without treating a persuasive output as knowledge before its sources, transformations and evidential status have been examined.

Current focus

  • preserving source provenance through the research process;
  • separating extracted material, claims, interpretation and synthesis;
  • keeping uncertainty and disagreement visible;
  • supporting correction without erasing the history of how a conclusion formed.

SwedenView

SwedenView is a concrete application of the research architecture developed through IROS. It is intended to support structured investigation of Swedish public information while retaining the source and reasoning trail behind the resulting view.

The project gives Atlas Labs a demanding test setting: information is distributed across organisations and formats, changes over time and often requires interpretation before it can responsibly inform a conclusion.
