Lab notes

The record matters as much as the result.

Lab Notes will document experiments, design decisions, failed approaches and unresolved questions. The directions below are planned—not yet published findings.

What a note should disclose

A Lab Note should identify the question, the setup, the relevant artefacts and the limits of what was observed. It should distinguish a result from an interpretation and an interpretation from a broader claim.

Negative findings, abandoned paths and changes of mind belong in the record. They are part of how a research practice learns.
